The above picture shows Frederick and Emily Seager with Winnie (standing), Nancy and Leslie. Unfortunately it seems there are no photos of the whole family but below is Gerry as a lad. His grandson Bob (my son) has just seen this and reckons his grandad hasn't changed at all.
The following information was kindly forwarded to me by my cousin, Wendy Allen (Winnie's daughter)...
"Frederick Seager, born 20 Jan 1884, Ipswich. Christened 9 Nov 1884, St Margaret's Church, Ipswich. died 6 oct 1956, buried 12 oct, Colchester.
His 1st wife, our grandmother, was Emily Louisa Allcock, born 3 dec 1887 in Matching Green, Essex.
Fred was a millwright and joiner for Cranfields, in Ipswich then Colchester. He loved to play cricket and according to Mum he had a lovely singing voice. He was also artistic - I remember him showing me drawings he had done on a glass lampshade which he was going to paint. did you meet him? I only remember his shock of pure white hair. Your Dad is very like him.
His father Alfred [12 Jun 1851 - 7 Oct 1927] was also a carpenter. I have Seagers back to 1787 I can send you paper charts or I can e-mail a gedcom file."
